We knew the Fresh Out The Mint crew wasn’t going to let summer go by without throwing another show highlighting hometown talent. Due to their continued support of the scene via this platform, it’s only right to provide people with a preview of tonight’s line-up. With Disorder holding down the sounds, get up-to-date with each artist on the bill below and be sure to pop up at the Great Scott tonight.

HighKeyRandom

A consistent work ethic can take you a long way and HighKeyRandom’s increased presence as a young, energetic talent in the city is a prominent example of a steady grind making a strong impact over time. After dropping several projects over the past few years, each with flashes of excitement and potential, HighKeyRandom has done well for himself in 2018. “Year Round” (prod. Bruise Wayne) takes HighKey’s liveliness to new heights and stands out as a personal favorite within his growing discography. Two Humbeats-produced tracks in “Had To” and “Paris” (ft. Jovian Marshon) are the latest offerings and continue to keep his name in conversations, especially since visuals accompany nearly every release. HighKey’s live stage presence matches the energy you hear in the music, so be sure to be in the building for the experience and to learn more about him as an artist, you can listen to our interview with him here.

CameFromEast

We first heard the name CameFromEAST due to his work with Rilla Force, one of our favorite producers from the city. Gems can certainly be found when digging through FromEAST’s SoundCloud, but his most recent project Blimp Dreams tells new listeners what they need to know. Possessing an engaging, unorthodox delivery and knack for flowing over RillaForce’s innovative production with comfort, FromEAST showcases fearlessness on the mic like there is no beat he can’t twist and turn into his liking. Be sure to check out FromEAST’s work and we’re excited to see what he brings to the stage tonight.

Patrick Michel

Anybody familiar with up-and-coming talent in the Boston/South Shore area should know the name Patrick Michel. The Brockton native earned widespread recognition for his 2017 breakout project $ide Effects and the music hasn’t lost any of its appeal over time. We know Patrick has been experimenting with new styles and sounds since then, wisely exercising patience and letting his growth happen naturally. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Patrick live, but we’re looking forward to seeing him perform both $ide Effects cuts and hopefully some new music. Be sure to check out interview with Patrick Michel if you haven’t already, one of the better, more personal conversations in our Bridge The Gap series.

Froze.40

Newly familiar to Froze.40, the trio’s style nicely complements a line-up full of energy and hunger to get their music to new levels. Froze.40’s work can range from unfiltered aggression to smoother, more melodic takes. The slowed-down, brighter offerings with a strong sonic foundation such as “Ride”, “8.5” (ft. Paris), “Stars” (ft. Jovian Marshon) and “Leave Me Alone Your Love Hurts” show off Froze.40’s abilities in the best light, but we’re ready to hear it all at the Great Scott tonight.

Special Guest: Lonny X

Lastly, word around town is that numerous special guests will be popping up this evening, one of which being Connecticut rapper Lonny X. We’ve been an admirer of his for a minute, so it was great to see his long-awaited project Full Court Press (featuring Gravez production!) come to life earlier this year. Be sure to read his interview with Pigeons & Planes to learn more about Lonny and you won’t want to miss his ‘surprise’ appearance tonight.
